In December 2011, Chilly Gonzales moved his piano to the Pigalle studio in Paris. Alone for 10 days straight, he recorded a selection of his compositions from among a hundred melodies composed over the 8 years since the legendary album Solo Piano. After years spent entertaining his audience with his "larger than life" personality, challenging artists from around the world to push themselves to achieve the excellence they owe to their fans, Chilly Gonzales now presents us with his most persuasive argument: the 14 tracks of Solo Piano II. The journey to Solo Piano II was rich for the "self-proclaimed musical genius." Fueled by a Grammy nomination and a Guinness World Record for the longest concert, Chilly Gonzales is THE pianist sought after by Drake, Feist, Daft Punk, and even Steve Jobs for his global campaign for the iPad 2. Through his albums and tours, Chilly fascinates with his versatility as a performer and his virtuosity as a pianist. Rare is the artist who makes his audience dance to the trendiest beats of the moment, then calls upon a symphony orchestra to accompany him during his rap concert. With Solo Piano II, Chilly Gonzales once again stands out as a true "entertainer," aware that the greatest mark of respect for his fans is above all to "shut up and play the piano" (according to Chilly Gonzales in The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales, 2011).
