Blackfield V is the result of the close collaboration between Israeli composer and musician Aviv Geffen and musician and producer Steven Wilson. Aviv Geffen has worked with legendary producers such as Tony Visconti and Trevor Horn; he has performed live with U2 and Placebo, and is currently a judge on The Voice on Israeli television. Steven Wilson, after a long career as the frontman of the highly influential band Porcupine Tree, has enjoyed enormous success in his solo career: No. 3 in the Top 40 albums in England, Germany and Holland, as well as 4 Grammy Award nominations. Written and recorded over a period of 18 months in Israel and England, Blackfield V contains 13 tracks with a total running time of 45 minutes. In addition to the duo on vocals, guitars and keyboards, Tomer Z is on drums and Eran Mitelman on keyboards. Most of the symphonic arrangements were performed by the London orchestral session. Blackfield V is a wonderful journey of catchy melodies, divine arrangements, and exceptional production. Indeed, the great Alan Parsons contributed to the production of 3 of the album’s best tracks. Lasse Hoile created the cover artwork in collaboration with Carl Glover. The two musicians consider Blackfield V to be their best collaboration to date.
