WE is Arcade Fire’s sixth album. Recorded in different places, from New Orleans to El Paso, it was produced by Nigel Godrich, Win and Reìgine. The songs on WE reflect the experiences of the past two years: lockdowns, an election, protests, unrest around the world, and more. Running 40 minutes, it is divided into 2 parts. The first, “I,” evokes our anxiety, fear and loneliness linked to isolation; the second, “WE,” expresses the power of reconnection, the love we have for one another and joy. An epic that deals as much with the forces that threaten to pull us away from the people we love as with the urgent need to overcome them.
