About
Coil, British pioneers of industrial and experimental soundscapes.
Over 40 vinyl releases blending ambient, electro, and psychedelic rock; rare pressings like 2016 Russian limited editions.
Coil emerged as a UK cross-genre group centered on experimental reach across ambient, industrial, electronic, and psychedelic rock styles. Founders John Balance and Peter Christopherson crafted a diverse catalog with 40 official vinyl releases spanning studio albums, live recordings, and limited editions. Their sound integrates musique concrète and glitch alongside dark wave and droning textures, often venturing into classical and soundtrack realms. Vinyl editions include numbered and colored variants, as well as reissues from labels like Infinite Fog and Dais Records.
The band disbanded in late 2004 after Balance's death.
