Moonshadows, whose name is borrowed from that of a seaside bar in Malibu where the members of Orgone’s crew are used to playing sets on Saturday nights, is the band’s tribute to yacht rock, sweater funk, and late-night drives along the Pacific Coast Highway. The album evokes neon lights and moonlight shimmering on the ocean waves, rolling rhythms, martinis, and luxury convertibles. However, there is nothing light about these songs. All of Orgone’s signature production elements — authentic sounds and powerful rhythms — infuse this ten-song album. For this record, Orgone drew on its deep bench of talent to showcase vocal performances from Adryon de León, Woolfy, Masauko Chipembere, Terin Ector, Jamie Allensworth, and more. Moonshadows is an intoxicating blend of lush vocals, classic drum sounds, and late-’70s vibes. Best served chilled at the end of the night to keep you grooving until the misty sunrise.
