Switzerland's MONKEY3 return with a sublime new album, once again pushing all boundaries (which is only natural, the country being quite small after all). What about this 6th opus? Still the same heavy production but airy sound, riffs bordering on post-rock and atmospheric metal with an innate sense of melody. A true feeling of melancholic contemplation emerges with each listen, and the appearance of clear and surprising solos proves once again that the band knows how to evolve, and in a beautiful way. Enchanting choruses, drums hammering the tracks with the aplomb of an executioner lowering his axe on the necks of us condemned, a captivating general atmosphere and a sound... A sound worthy of a Hollywood production. Look no further, among most "post-something" bands, MONKEY3 is above, elsewhere, far... Grandiose. Featuring Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal on the track "Mass".
