After more than forty years in New Orleans, British pianist Jon Cleary has become one of the major ambassadors of the music of his adopted city. Accompanied notably by his band The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, he has traveled the world celebrating the musical traditions of New Orleans, including funk, soul, blues, and R&B. On June 16, 2025, Cleary finally took the stage at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London for a solo piano concert. There, he revisits his own repertoire and pays tribute to figures like Lloyd Price and Jelly Roll Morton. Fully recorded, this concert captures a virtuosic and explosive performance, captured by engineer John Porter. An exceptional document celebrating Jon Cleary's return to his homeland.
