Fables is the first widely distributed album by Isabel Pine, released by Kranky, blending ambient, contemporary, and experimental music. After classical training in violin and viola, Pine settled in British Columbia and composes in nature, incorporating environmental sounds like wind and birds directly into her pieces. Recorded in an isolated cabin and its surroundings, the album offers slow and luminous meditations, blurring the line between composed music and living soundscapes.
