A baritone saxophonist by training, but also an arranger and bandleader, Gerry Mulligan epitomized excellence during the 1950s. He began collaborating in the early 50s with Chet Baker, with whom he formed one of the most popular quartets in Cool Jazz. The *Gerry Mulligan Meets* series would produce some of the genre's biggest standards, with the 1960 release featuring Ben Webster being one of the most important. This 180-gram vinyl reissue is sure to delight fans of West Coast and Cool Jazz.
