For her new album 'Multitudes,' 11-time Juno Award winner Feist explores the countless ways we seek truth, or deliberately conceal it. Across its 12 songs, 'Multitudes' affirms the artist's ability to build elaborate sonic worlds by following her singular writing to its most poetic expression. This sixth album took shape shortly after the birth of her daughter and the sudden death of her father, a back-to-back convergence of profoundly unsettling events that left their mark on the singer. Feist slowly gravitated towards a batch of songs rooted in a raw, powerful realism touched by an otherworldly beauty. Largely written and honed during an experimental show of the same name in 2021 and 2022, the songs were deeply influenced by the mutuality of this unconventional experience. Produced with her regular co-producers Mocky and Robbie Lackritz, 'Multitudes' unfolds with an almost symphonic grandeur despite its moments of absolute austerity.
