It must be admitted that some time has passed since Erik Francis Schrody - aka Everlast - released his last studio album composed of unreleased tracks; seven years, to be exact. That is why the arrival in 2018 of 'Whitey Ford's House Of Pain' - his seventh album, which follows 'Songs Of The Ungrateful Living' - is all the more welcome. The former House of Pain rapper and cross-influenced artist has lost none of his talent during this long creative break. On the contrary, Everlast remains true to what he does best: meaningful hip-hop, tinged with folk and blues. With 'Whitey Ford's House Of Pain', he reconnects with his past, both in terms of lyrics and music. However, the first two singles - "The Culling" and "Don't Complain" - show an obvious freshness and renewed energy. Everlast maintains a unique identity, as he proves with this remarkable new release: 'Whitey Ford's House Of Pain'.
