L'album « The Reunion » de Capone-N-Noreaga marks the reunion of the duo from Queens after the long absence of « The War Report ». It brilliantly mixes the raw authenticity of the streets with a more ambitious rap production, typical of the early 2000s. Released in 2000 on the Tommy Boy label, this album reveals the strong bond between Capone and Noreaga: Capone's cold and incisive flow balances the exuberant charisma and offbeat groove of Nore. The album benefits from high-quality production and prestigious collaborations with heavyweights like DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Havoc, L.E.S., Nas, Mobb Deep, Foxy Brown, and Carl Thomas, surrounding CNN with some of the iconic voices and figures of New York rap. Key tracks such as « Bang Bang », « Invincible », « Queens Finest », and « Phonetime » imbue the album with impactful rhythms, the tension of phone calls from prison, the pride of Queens, and the distinctive slang of CNN. Commercially, the album achieved respectable success, reaching 31st place on the Billboard 200 and 8th on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, while « Phonetime » climbed to 22nd place on the Hot Rap Songs. The Reunion marks a uncompromising turning point for CNN: a striking post-millennial album, rich in collaborations, that immortalizes the reunion of Capone and Noreaga without embellishment. This deluxe edition includes the remastered original album and 3 bonus tracks.
