It is worth noting that the pop of the mid-1960s was much more than just the Beatles. During this period, composer Burt Bacharach and his lyricist Hal David rarely went a month without one of their songs appearing on the charts. Hit Maker! is the first album by the American composer, recorded in London. The session musicians included the legendary members of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, as well as Big Jim Sullivan and members of Ted Heath's band, with uncredited vocals from the Breakaways. This album features Bacharach's own interpretations of some of his greatest songs. The 1960s would not have been the same without Bacharach & David. Undoubtedly, Hit Maker! is a masterpiece of sophisticated pop by one of the most important composers of the 20th century. DELUXE REISSUE ON 180 GRAM VINYL - including the original cover.
