The first release from the band since the acclaimed Arrangements of 2022, Ill at Ease also marks the band's first release with Born Losers. The album sees Preoccupations drawing from new inspirations, both sonic and experiential, to create the eight dynamic tracks that make up the project. Ill at Ease retains the band's signature post-punk sound that has earned them praise from Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, and others, while also drawing on the nostalgia of 80s and 90s music that served as a major influence on the album.
