Yaya Minté was born in Pikine, on the outskirts of Dakar, and arrived in France at the age of 8. From his early years, he retained an unusual phrasing, weaned from the lullabies that his grandmother used to hum to him. As a young adult, Yaya Minté developed this style by performing in the streets of Paris. Until he crossed paths with the label Think Zik! Imany entrusted him with the opening acts for her Olympia and Casino de Paris shows. Yaya Minté's universe evolves between soul and pop and directly touches the heart and soul. The media often compare him to Ben Harper and Ed Sheeran. While Yaya Minté's stage career was just beginning and leading him to play with artists such as Anwar, Imany, and Faada Freddy, COVID abruptly halted his momentum. Starting from scratch, he worked step by step on his first album So. The result is vibrant music that blends soul, pop, and African roots, carried by positive vibes.
