The French avant-garde rock/metal duo WuW is the next representative of the ever-growing list of avant-garde artists from Pelagic. Inspired by classical music, free jazz, and drone rock, the two brothers Benjamin and Guillaume Colin, classically trained, have been creating experimental lo-fi post-rock epics since 2016 in the vein of Year Of No Light, Dirge, and Omega Massif. "WuW is the sound the wind makes when it blows on a warm night," explains the band; "It's a low-end whisper that grabs you by the gut, a breath of air that rushes through the mountains and oceans." Their upcoming third album, "L'Orchaostre," is a hymn to a very turbulent journey, an impressive five-part instrumental doom symphony that creates a shroud of oppressive atmospheres with just a hint of light.
