Originally released in 2016, UADA’s debut album, Devoid of Light, stands out for its remarkable coherence. Consisting of just five tracks for a little over thirty minutes, it is a fully realized artistic statement. Written a few months after the band formed and already performed live in early 2015, this album captures UADA at a moment when everything seemed to be accelerating and falling into place naturally. Over the years, this album has become a benchmark, helping to reaffirm a more melodic, riff-driven approach in modern black metal. It has also established itself as a true fan favorite. Ten years later, Devoid of Light returns in an expanded edition. Remastered by Arthur Rizk, who also worked on the mixing and mastering of UADA’s second album, Cult of a Dying Sun, as well as the acoustic album Interwoven, this material gains depth without losing the character of the original recordings. This edition also includes previously unreleased photographs by Peter Beste, as well as rare archival material, expanded liner notes, and an exclusive bonus track. A decade later, Devoid of Light remains timeless: concise, immersive, and unmistakably unique. For fans of UNDER THAT SPELL, old-HELRUNAR, SACRAMENTUM, AGES, INQUISITION.
