"Dead Again" is the seventh studio album by Type O Negative and, after a four-year break between releases, marks the long-awaited return to the grandiose sound for which the Brooklyn band is known. Running 77 min 35 s, "Dead Again" offers a musical journey through the darkest depths of human existence. Love, loss, madness, ethics, chaos, your most secret dreams and your worst nightmares: all brought together in the Type O Negative formula, created by the self-taught professor of the chemistry of emotions, Peter Steele (vocals, bass). Recorded and produced by Steele and Josh Silver (keyboards), the sound of darkness is more prophetic than ever, rock-solid and terribly real. "The Great Monk" Grigori Rasputin adorns the cover of the new Type O Negative album, a dark, mysterious and fascinating and captivating figure in Russian history. So dangerous and so troubling that the Russian nobility repeatedly tried, unsuccessfully, to have him removed because of his influence over the last generation of the tsar's family. This mysterious and unsettling figure is the flesh-and-blood equivalent of Type O Negative's unique sound. Rasputin once prophesied: "When the bells ring three times, they will announce that I have been killed... Pray, Tsar of Russia. Pray." But with gold and platinum albums behind them, the bells certainly did not ring for Type O Negative... Determined and unequivocal, they bring news from a dark place... A place of infinitely ordered chaos where there is no escape, no break from the recurring cycle of creation and destruction. We are born, we live, we fail, we try to forgive, seek forgiveness and are reborn. Type O Negative are about to be reborn. But first and foremost, they are "Dead Again".
