The remarkable return of Bobby Kimball to the lineup after 17 years away. He brings a bit more passion to the singing than the singers who were part of the band after 'Toto IV'. Kimball is supported by guitarist Steve Lukather, keyboardists David Paich and Steve Porcaro, bassist Mike Porcaro, and Simon Phillips on drums. 'Mindfield' consists mostly of songs that last over 5 minutes and encompass several genres ranging from pop-rock to world music to jazz-fusion and blues-rock. 'Mindfields' is an album of instrumental and vocal virtuosity that has taken the band Toto from the youthful path of 80s music videos to the adult arena rock highway of today.
