Thundercat is a bassist, songwriter, and performer recognized by many artists: collaborations that have continued to multiply from Flying Lotus, of course, to Erykah Badu or Stanley Clarke, or more recently, on the latest albums by Kendrick Lamar or Kamasi Washington, Wiz Khalifa, or Earl Sweatshirt, to name just a few. He quickly established himself as one of the most fascinating artists of his generation with a unique style found on the two solo albums that Thundercat released on the label of his comrade Flying Lotus, Brainfeeder: in 2011, The Golden Age of Apocalypse, and then in 2013, Apocalypse. In 2016, Thundercat won his first Grammy for his participation in "These Walls" on the album "To Pimp A Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar. Here he is today back with this new album "Drunk," in which we find that unique style, an album at the crossroads of soul, jazz, beat scene, and pop with equally prestigious collaborations: Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, and Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins (Doobie Brothers). We also find Flying Lotus on programming and Kamasi Washington on saxophone on a few tracks.
