Four years of performing, over 200 concerts across France - in front of Cali, Patrice, Saint Paul & the Broken Bones, and many others, two stadiums of 18,000 people alone with his guitar, The Voice in 2015, two EPs, and now a first album: Thomas Kahn is on the right path, the one that leads far, very far. It starts with a unique voice that has power and soul. A voice that grooves on hip hop beats, that transports us on soundscapes reminiscent of Gorillaz, that comes alive on masculine bass lines to deliver a 2.0 soul, bold, sexy, and pumped up. There is a beautiful and strong substance, the warmth of nearby lamps, a scope, a daring, a mastery, and above all, a face, a personality, a true one. A ticking time bomb mixed by Mr. Laurent Dupuy (two Grammy Awards, please), the album was composed in a closed setting with Vivien Bouchet, artistic director and former bassist of Kaolin. The increasingly renowned producer quickly awakened the talent of Thomas and his musicians to make the American black music of 2020 sound as if we were there. In the magnificent setting of the Palace studios, built stone by stone by Fred Echelard, the man who mixes the French versions of the biggest American blockbusters (Interstellar), and Théophile Collier, film music composer, captured all the urgency, fervor, and deep essence of an authentic artist, connected to the values of soul. Yann Orhan, photographer for Julien Doré, Cali, Miossec, and other big names, focused on immortalizing this magical moment by creating the cover photo for this highly anticipated first album, 10 tracks soon to be released by Flower Coast, an impeccable independent label from Clermont.
