In the early 70s, Los Angeles saw the birth of a new musical movement that blended the harmonies of California surf-rock with the instrumentation of country and bluegrass. More than any other, one group embodied this country-rock from Southern California: the Eagles. Throughout their career, success was always there. The story of the Eagles officially begins in August 1971. Simply titled EAGLES, the band’s first album was released in June 72 on Asylum, a brand-new label created by David Geffen. The record was recorded in London, under the direction of Glyn Johns, the legendary producer of the Rolling Stones and the Who, among others. After the success of the first single taken from it, Take it easy, another 45 rpm single from this first album would do even better: Witchy woman, which reached No. 9.
