Soprano rediscovers the lyrical and technical energy of the early days alongside R.E.D.K., one of the future leaders of the new Marseille generation. 12 tracks packed with hip-hop energy, served up by Sopranesque singles. The history of American rap has been marked by memorable collaborative albums. To take recent examples, one can think of the Kanye West and Jay-Z project, but also Bad Meets Evil, the duo bringing together Eminem and his friend Royce Da 5'9''. Curiously, such projects are rare in France and, once again, it is Soprano who is showing the way after being the first in France to release two successful official albums in less than a year between 2010 and 2011 with La Colombe, then Le Corbeau. “Sopra,” as he is nicknamed, will deliver E=2MC's on April 30, 2012, a duo project with another Marseille rapper, R.E.D.K., a member of the group Carpe Diem, a safe bet on the local scene for several years already. For the rap enthusiast that Soprano is, the opportunity is a great one: master of his art, he goes head-to-head, in complete friendship, with the flow of an artist he admires. Can he hold his own against the drive of an MC who knows his time has come and who will not let his chance pass him by? “Meskine,” the first track taken from E=2MC's, answers the question in the affirmative and reveals even more... After six albums, Soprano rediscovers the energy of the early days while R.E.D.K. asserts his technical mastery and his expertise in punchlines, without either rapper losing his identity at the mic or in the writing. Between the two Marseille artists, the complementarity and complicity are obvious. The formula for the alchemy is now known: E=2MC's.
