The reggae-metal sound system from Newport, Skindred, was already known as an exhilarating live band, but the 2023 album 'Smile' changed everything. It reached #2 on the UK charts, followed by a packed headlining show at Wembley Arena, earning them the proud title of Best Alternative Act at the MOBO Awards. But how can you top that? For Skindred and their upcoming album 'You Got This', the answer was simple. You’ll leave battle-ready with a streamlined set, no filler, that distills everything people love about them: punchy slammers, mega-addictive choruses, impactful sound elements, and dancehall vibes designed to ignite festivals and concerts around the world. And with Benji Webbe, they have the ultimate frontman — a man whose overflowing enthusiasm is instantly contagious, delivering the other great strength of the album: a surge of adrenaline and pure motivation. His phenomenally powerful voice is balanced by lighter, more melodic emotional moments that champion self-confidence, resilience, and the joy in the little things that make life worth living — he’s the loudest life coach you could meet. Thus, for Skindred, the wave of discovery from 'Smile' was just the beginning of new adventures to come. Where this leads them remains to be written, but one thing is certain: they have succeeded.
