For his second mixtape, SEB wanted to explore new musical colors, between rap and alternative music. Influenced by multiple genres, « BACKPACK » is a musical journey in 12 tracks and a lovely way for him to « empty his bag ».
For his first album, SEB chose to explore new musical colors, between rap and alternative sounds. Fueled by multiple influences, BACKPACK unfolds in 12 tracks as a true sonic journey, a sincere and unapologetic way for him to « empty his bag ».
Followed by millions of people on the internet, SEB made a name for himself musically with his freestyles and his videos totaling millions of views. In 2021, he took a first step with his mixtape Crash Test, a project that today is approaching 30 million streams.
Building on this success, he felt the need to rethink the way he creates. Rather than releasing one project after another, he took a break, stepped back and set out in search of his own sound.
With BACKPACK, SEB does not just make a record: he builds a universe. His fictional alter ego, Slout – a humanoid character inspired by the sloth – becomes the embodiment of his music. This bold choice allows him to break free from his public image and put art first: the music, the visuals and even the physical object respond to one another in a coherent and singular creative proposition.
Radical and unapologetic, BACKPACK marks a key step in SEB’s evolution, affirming his artistic identity while pushing the boundaries of his own creativity.
