"‘Bringing Bach and Coltrane into dialogue was for me a way to resonate them more than to transform their works, to reveal them to each other and one through the other. It seemed interesting to see how their music could interpenetrate today in the 21st century. Coltrane shows us that we can improvise on Bach, and Bach confirms that Coltrane's compositions hold up in comparison to his works. For me, the work of recontextualization takes place at this level.’ Raphaël Imbert"
