Queen II (the group’s second album, released in 1974) marks the beginning of the band in the form we know it. It is the first time we hear multi-track overdubs, harmonies, and varied musical styles (ballads, folk, blues, thrash metal, pop and rock, it’s all there). It also includes their first hit, “Seven Seas of Rhye,” which led to the first of their many appearances on the music show Top of the Pops.
