Released from the Wailers, Peter Tosh delivers a true musical gem with Legalize It. He tackles very engaged and provocative themes, particularly in the title track (legalization of marijuana). But what stands out is the return to pure, rural, almost acoustic reggae, with the ultra-slow tempo of Burial, the guitar phrasing of No Sympathy responding to the singer's voice, and the Rasta prayer of Igziabeher, which reveals the deep spirituality as well as the breadth of the author's talent.
