The Odeia group enjoys appropriating repertoires from all corners of the world by crossing the straits that separate seas and oceans. On the theme of tears, all tears, those that make you cry, those that make you laugh, those that set you free, those that bring people together, Odeia creates new bridges between languages that are conjugated in all tenses.
So get out your umbrellas, it’s going to rain!
It’s raining cats and dogs, violin, cello, guitars and double bass. They make the heartstrings vibrate, and reveal the powerful voice, deep or joyful, full of tears or sparks, of singer Elsa Birgé.
For this third opus, Odeia sails toward a new horizon, working with other ears and other pens, surrounding itself with the contemporary composers Jean-François Vrod and Karl Naegelen, with traditional or baroque influences. Thanks to their very personal approach to musical composition and their strong connection to oral transmission, they lead the group to renew itself by digging into its perspectives while affirming its imagination.
Odeia thus revisits airs and laments by Scarlatti, Vivaldi and Dowland, as well as traditional music from central France, Greece and Italy.
