Nawal, the voice of the Comoros: reissue of her album Aman released in 2007 as a self-production. By far her best album. Nawal, a Franco-Comorian artist, is today a major figure in her native archipelago. She has found her “path,” a star of the Comoros at its zenith! Her vocal and instrumental cords, her very gestures, have captivated audiences around the world. Nawal is a woman of earth and sky, writes lyrics and music, sings and plays the gambusi (traditional Comorian chordophone), the guitar, the daf (Persian membranophone), flutes, and the thumb piano, the Zimbabwean mbira. Her music is resolutely acoustic, and rich in a mixed spirituality. Her voice and her universe move audiences of all cultures here and elsewhere. In Aman, Nawal continues the mystical quest that radiated through Kweli, delivering compositions that sound like an invitation to transcendental spirituality. Aman is a spicy, rebellious and committed album, also unfolding as a meditation on our condition, a meditation that translates into a manifesto for a new humanism... The album includes exclusively the remix of Salama by DJ Click!
