Moriarty presents its new album: Fugitives. On it, the band covers songs by Woodie Guthrie, Willie Mc Tell, John Hurt, Hank Williams and other songwriters sometimes unfairly overlooked. Before Dylan, before Robert Zimmermann, there were the ancestors, songwriters & bluesmen by the names of Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie Mc Tell. There were also songs passed down by ear from generation to generation, without being able to trace their author or exact origin. Haunted by these ghosts and in the company of a few connoisseurs - Wayne Standley, Moriba Koïta, Don Cavalli & Mama Rosin - we plunged into this not-so-distant past to bring back this collection of songs that are both archaic and modern, telling together a story of love and abandonment, seduction and addiction, crimes of passion, revenge and flights forward. There we encounter a gallery of fugitives of all kinds, murderous lovers and highway bandits, do-gooders, mothers abandoned by their men addicted to gambling or drink, exploited cowboys, an adulterous and proud woman, a cheeky candy seller, a heartbroken widower.
