For more than 20 years, Melissmell has shared with an audience that has remained loyal to her, her struggles, her social commitments, her personal battles. And it all fits together. Mélanie Coulet in everyday life, Melissmell on stage, has never renounced her commitment against injustice, racism, stupidity in general. Against all odds, she has forged her own path, never once doubting her convictions, nor renouncing them, even as, in the general morass, some have preferred to soften their message. It is no coincidence that her fifth album is titled Olympe. A tribute to an activist, a woman who never resigned herself. A compass for many of us. A woman whose name should never fall into oblivion. With a flower in her rifle, she remains a fighter, in her life as a woman, a mother and an activist.
