Max and Glenn built their reputation in a short time with vinyl-only releases that received support from indie stores. With “The Yard Work Simulator,” the duo should, unsurprisingly, be able to get their message across on a larger scale. Max and Glenn are above all music lovers: whether playing it, making it, talking about it, or digging for it, music runs through their veins. Not concerned with belonging to any Hypewhatever movement, their style could be described as “Old school.” Put them behind the decks, and they’ll drop a set mixing Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop, moving through soul and disco (the heart and foundation of their sound) and will probably get the whole room dancing to the rhythm of a dark Polish jazz funk. It is this commitment to real culture and the art of DJing that has earned them the respect of Resident Advisor, Boiler room and underground communities. Lock them in a studio together and let yourself be carried away by the swing when the speaker blasts one of their productions. The duo revels in exploring mid tempo, and the smooth groove that comes out of their MPC fits perfectly among the vinyl gems that inhabit their DJ set.
