Manic Street Preachers present their fifteenth studio album and the accompanying UK tour, "Critical Thinking." "Critical Thinking" celebrates conflicting ideas colliding, with lyrics of unwavering depth meeting some of the most direct and addictive melodies the band has ever recorded. Nicky Wire of Manic Street Preachers talks about "Critical Thinking": “This is a record where opposites collide, where dialectic tries to find a way of resolution. While the music is effervescent and elegiac, most of the lyrics deal with the cold analysis of the self, except for the three James (Dean Bradfield) lyrics which seek and, hopefully, find answers in people, their memories, their language and their beliefs. The music is energetic and at times euphoric. The recording was at times sporadic and isolated, while at other times we played live as a band, again the oppositions make sense in relation to each other. There are crises at the heart of these songs. They are microcosms of scepticism and suspicion, the drive inward seems inevitable - start with yourself, maybe the rest will follow.” Speaking to Mojo Magazine, James Dean Bradfield said: “Sometimes you just need to have your best songs, put out a record without trying to describe some grand overarching concept, even if there is a thread running through it.” Featuring a remix of "Decline & Fall" by Steven Wilson and demo versions of all the new tracks from the album on the deluxe CD.
