Convergence, Malia’s album in collaboration with Boris Blank from the group Yello. “The deeper sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain,” wrote Khalil Gibran. The music of Convergence makes this awareness tangible. This album of rare beauty, sensual and wounded, was conceived over three years. The 11 tracks on this intense and inspired production speak of life and survival. Hymns full of tragic moments and dramatic realizations, these tracks speak of ghosts, prostitution, slavery, illness, spirituality and, of course, love. These are songs as light as they are deep, as wise as they are simplistic, and often both at once. Convergence abounds in snapshots that seem made for eternity. Both modern and timeless, this electro soul music has the ability to make the listener deeply happy. “I immerse myself in this music as in dance,” says Malia.
