MALAVOI’s new album, following the same principle as the album Matebis (the group’s biggest-selling release, issued twenty years ago), shows the group performing and arranging songs by their guests who have left their mark on the Antilles. With the voices of the current generation, MALAVOI makes the songs their own. The guests: Esy Kennenga, Loriane Zacharie, Emeline Michel, Valérie Louri, Kolo Bart, as well as the group’s singers Pipo and especially Ralph Thamar. Covering both Jean-Jacques Goldman on A nos actes manqués and Kon Si Chak Jou by Esy Kennenga, MALAVOI’s sound shines and reinvents these tracks.
