ATTENTION: A powerhouse group for all jazz lovers! A “super group,” four virtuosos: JACK DEJOHNETTE, LARRY GRENADIER, JOHN MEDESKI AND JOHN SCOFIELD. At the heart of this project is a strong idea that lies in the group’s name and the album title: the Hudson Valley in the state of New York, where this music was born: the four musicians live there, and the album was recorded there. This place is the album’s main source of inspiration; the band members share there a passion for the spectacular beauty of nature, and their common concern for environmental issues. Naming this project “Hudson” therefore seemed obvious, and a way to pay tribute to the historical heritage of this region, which has always been home to a large community of artists. In addition to the original compositions, we discover a repertoire of songs by the greatest musical figures of the Hudson Valley: Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Joni Mitchell.
