Nouveau arrivals on the indie scene, the first album by the Tuareg group IMARHAN is produced by Eyadou Eg Leche of Tinariwen, of which they are the little protégés. Blending traditional Tuareg music, desert funk, blues, and sun-soaked psychedelia, IMARHAN was one of the revelations of the latest Transmusicales de Rennes. Kurt Vile invited them to open for his European tour, and Howe Gelb and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth are fans. Proof that the group breaks boundaries. Dancing like 70's American funk, as deep and dense as Tinariwen, psychedelic like 13th Floor Elevators, IMARHAN will obsess you. IMARHAN is the group that will make indie fans love world music, the group that will make world music fans love rock.
