Blackhole, HÖG’s debut album, delivers dirty, aggressive doom/stoner rock steeped in proto-metal, punk and heavy rock, fueled by the fervor of 70s heavy music. The band alternates furious passages close to speed metal with more psychy or fuzz-laden moments, with dominant riffs and a destructive rhythm section. Standout tracks like Don’t Need You, Blackhole or City Witch blend proto-doom, garage rock and a bluesy energy carried by Daniel’s rough voice. Signed to RidingEasy Records, HÖG deliver a powerful, soulful album, not revolutionary but authentic and charged with a raging attitude that leaves a lasting impression.
