"Affinity" reveals itself to be a complete work, at the exact junction of accessibility and virtuosity. Obviously, making a complex record accessible requires a thorough mastery of its content. The long and progressive structures are thus made approachable thanks to an undeniable sense of melody. Haken develops a liberated music, a true monument of passion, emotion, and strength. The English have therefore succeeded in their bet to compose an exciting album from start to finish. Mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Between The Buried And Me) with Einar from the band Leprous on the track "The Architect".
