The New York quartet Geese is back with Getting Killed, a third album as unexpected as it is anticipated. While Cameron Winter's solo career explodes with Heavy Metal: why release a band record now? Perhaps because, reunited with his childhood friends Dominic DiGesu, Max Bassin and Emily Green, they have finally created the album they dreamed of making. Perhaps also because they are on a mission: to become the next great American rock band. Getting Killed is controlled chaos, a divine comedy on the edge of the precipice: messy on the surface, formidable in execution. The ultimate rock record? Quite possibly.
