Blues, Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Soul... Etta James is one of the most beautiful voices in black popular music and has never cared about labels. Martin Scorsese wanted her to participate in his series project on the Blues. Although she declined his invitation, this series inspired her new album. "Blues To The Bone" is a unique tribute to the pioneers of the genre. The album features twelve legendary classics by Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf, Lightning Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James... Etta James reinvents the masculine and raw world of Delta Blues and makes timeless standards her own, with the authenticity and conviction of a true blueswoman.
