On knows Eric Schaefer notably thanks to the incredible telepathy he shares with pianist Michael Wollny within the latter's trio. But he leads a rich career in parallel with several projects, all more fertile than the others. With his group The Shredz, the drummer joyfully mixes the jazz fusion of the 60s with the jazz dub of the 90s and current club music. It's a magical and supercharged cocktail with stunning and sometimes complex compositions, which require a breathtaking stylistic mastery and are rooted in unbridled improvisation. Don't count on Eric Schaefer to keep a regular and metronomic pulse; the established order is not his style! But if you love surprise, astonishment, creativity, lyrical flights followed by fiery passages, then he will quickly become your favorite drummer! Beware, highly addictive album for all music lovers with discerning ears!
