Abandoned factories, rusted machines and landscapes ravaged by human activity make up the sonic world of Sensitive Disturbance, the third release by the Canadian project Sistrenatus. Behind this name is Harlow MacFarlane, also known for his work with Funerary Call, whose musical explorations combine dark ambient, noise and industrial music. Released in 2009 on Cold Spring Records, the album develops seven instrumental compositions where mechanical rumblings, saturated frequencies and oppressive layers create a hostile environment, between sonic violence and more subterranean tensions. From “Disrepair” to “Forgotten,” via “Rusted Earth” and “Lost Transmission,” this record extends the research begun on Division One in 2007, giving industrial music an almost cinematic dimension.
