One More by Kiyoshi Sugimoto is a Japanese album from 1974 that extends his universe between jazz-funk, fusion, and sophisticated electric jazz. The guitarist asserts a very melodic, smooth, and refined style, with a playing that is always fluid but more focused here on groove and electric atmospheres. The album is built on very clean and elegant arrangements, where guitar, keyboards, and rhythm section move forward with true cohesion. Without being showy, the record establishes an urban, warm, and modern ambiance, typical of the best Japanese jazz from the mid-70s. Today, One More is considered a beautiful Japanese jazz-fusion record, appreciated for its balance between accessibility, finesse, and groove.
