The heavy metal band Streamer, originally from Gavà in Catalonia, was formed in 2013 from the ashes of a band called Spleen Ideal. They played locally and recorded a two-track demo titled “Time To Die” in 2014. This was followed by the EP “Broken Dreams” a year later. In 2017, Streamer recorded their first full-length album “Now Or Never”, which led to a series of concerts across Spain as well as a trip to the UK (playing at the “Grimm Up North Fest” in Bury, England). Unfortunately, the second album “Light Of Death” was released during the Covid period in 2020, making live shows limited. In September 2025, Streamer entered Moontower Studios in the city of Terrassa to record their third album “Into The Void”, the first for High Roller Records. Javi Félez was the man behind the storyboard. “I would say it’s a classic heavy metal album with plenty of different nuances, textures and emotions,” is how bassist Cristian describes Streamer’s brand-new project “Into The Void”. It features both darkness and melancholy, as well as some really catchy songs. Less influenced by classic Spanish bands like Baron Rojo, Angeles Del Infierno, Panzer and Obus, Streamer belongs to a new generation of Iberian heavy metal, with bands like Löanshark, Crimson Storm, Witchtower, Iron Curtain, War Dogs, Rave In Fire and Chantrice receiving increasing recognition. One of the key songs on “Into The Void” is “The Day That Barchinona Died”. It shows a lot of NWOBHM influences, with Iron Maiden’s galloping rhythms omnipresent, but there are also traces of American epic metal and early European power metal, a truly successful blend. “Thank you very much,” beams the bassist. “I think that’s an excellent way to describe it. After all, we all love those genres, so we’re happy when people see it that way.” “Rock All Around”, on the other hand, is more of a rock and feel-good track, with the twin-guitar crunch as one of Streamer’s trademarks. “The idea was to write a sharp, direct and catchy song with that rock and roll spirit and attitude,” explains the four-string player, “we can’t wait to play it live!” Overall, “Into The Void” is a very diverse traditional heavy metal album from one of Spain’s most promising young bands.
