A new opus by Guillaume Esvelin is always the promise of a journey into a pianistic land like no other. Three years after Bed Light, Guillaume returns to delight us with a suite of piano pieces that are alternately turbulent, dreamlike, and profound, arranged so as to form a single continuous flow of notes that overwhelms and moves us all at once. A work of contrasts, yet also of coherence and rigor, this recording shakes up the rules and also shakes up our inner self. Sometimes solemn, but always luminous, Guillaume Esvelin lets a generous soul bead from his fingers, bringing ivory to life.
