DAILY THOMPSON has done it again! Just like for their previous album, “Chuparosa”, the band made the trip to Seattle to record their eighth opus with Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Pentagram, Constance Tomb). Along the way, they played a few concerts and soaked up the atmosphere of the city and its surroundings. You can clearly feel, with every listen, the humidity of the American Northwest and all its musical history in every groove. This album seems to come straight out of the golden age of the 90s. Subtly grunge and alternative, it is imbued with melancholy and serenity in the vocal lines. More melodic than ever, catchy and captivating, it nevertheless retains the raw, rough patina of alternative rock. The band has managed to incorporate new influences while evolving without losing their identity or their signature sound. The highlights remain the dual vocals, when Danny Zaremba and Mercedes Lalakakis sing together or take turns. With “Glue”, DAILY THOMPSON proves above all that they are not only talented musicians, but that they also possess a deep sense of atmosphere and emotion — and above all, a real gift for songwriting. An exceptional album that, oscillating between melancholy and pure musical joy, takes the listener from North America all the way to the north of their hometown, Dortmund. Despite all their musical influences, the band never loses sight of its own DNA. For fans of BIG SCENIC NOWHERE, HIGH DESERT QUEEN, STÖNER, ROTOR.
