In 1991, DEATH, one of the most important and influential bands in the history of metal, released a masterpiece: “Human,” a cornerstone of the band’s career that saw DEATH’s sound become more complex. This progressive death metal, reminiscent of ATHEIST, CARCASS or MORBID ANGEL, then served as a springboard for the nuanced riffs and dazzling solos of the MASVIDAL / SCHULDINER duo, and the technical perfection of the REINERT (bass) / DIGIORGIO (drums) pairing. Some even consider “Human” the death metal equivalent of “Nevermind.” It sold 1 million copies worldwide, including 500,000 in Europe. 20 years later, Relapse reissues this masterpiece in an exceptional edition, remixed by JIM MORRIS (DEATH producer) and remastered by ALAN DOUCHES (MASTODON, CONVERGE, THE MISFITS). With this box set including a bonus CD and more than an hour of unreleased and demo tracks, as well as a booklet full of essential information about the making of this record, you have in your hands the definitive version of DEATH’s ultimate masterpiece!
