For this comeback, De Palmas wanted to return to basics. Most of the lyrics were written before the melodies, and that is the album’s most striking feature. This desire to start with the lyrics was to be his new angle of attack. Strong verses, raw couplets, lively choruses, thrown like coal on snow, at daybreak. Ten songs, written and composed by De Palmas, mostly recorded in the studio under live conditions. The vocals in particular. The tracks on "La beauté du geste" are ricochets. "Il faut qu'on s'batte", "T'es belle à en crever", "J'ai envie de toi", splendid slaps in the face. De Palmas almost always speaks about himself through the characters in his songs, because that is how he likes to communicate.
